if you wanted something easy you could alter them paint can w/ a teacher theme so they could leave it in their room...
or alter a lunchbox, that's always fun!
viva las vegas?
nope...
but if you decide to drop your hectic life right now and run away to vegas with us i'd be sooooooooo very happy!
love you!

I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING THE SAME THINGS AS ERIN... SOMETHING ALTERED THAT THEY CAN KEEP IN THEIR CLASS!!! SOUNDS FUN, YOU SWEET MAMA YOU!!!!

SORRY, I'M 26 AND IT IS STRANGE FOR *ME* TO SAY THAT 10 YEARS AGO I WAS 16!!!!! =) I FEEL MUCH OLDER :p

Ooooooooooo A MASSAGE.. I was so thinking on the way to work that I need to hint to hottie-head Darin that I want a massage for V-day.

But the altered paint can was a good idea too.. she could keep that in her room.

What about an altered mini chalk board or cork board?
A nice picture frame or an altered frame?
A bouquet of flowers to say thank you?
A GC to a book store?
That's all I've got.

I have no ideas for you. I'm sorry..but I'm with Missy...so not clever. And I should have ideas because Brad brings home teacher gifts a lot....but I can't remember what he liked and did not. I will just say be mindful of junk..I have so much junk from students sitting around my house....drivesm me crazy....though if you made them something that would OF COURSE not be junk/.

I think the little altered something sounds great! I did a little lunchbox to hold the cards I make - it was fun and pretty easy to alter. I did mine real simple though. Also, it was only about $6.50 for the tin so it's reasonable as far as cost. Maybe you could make the little tin and fill it with something...cookies? candy?

oh and I so hear you about those girls who were in highschool 10 years ago...I'd been out for 3 years already (I was 20!).

I like Erin's idea of making an altered paint can/lunchbox. In the past I've made little 'Teacher' themed books for my dd's teachers with teacher poems, quotes, etc... feel free to check out my gallery if you like. Also, you could do a giftbasket with their favorite things like candy, candles, tea/coffee, gift cards to their fave stores. Oooh, Michael's! They LOVE M's since they don't have a very big budget and have to purchase a lot of supplies on their own. Just a few ideas... good luck! :)

As wife to a teacher, I humbly suggest restaurant gift cards and/or movie passes. Nothing says "I appreciate you" like a night at Chili's!!!

And if you must, then craft a nifty holder to put the gift card in.

Oh.
And 10 years ago? Almost through with college.

It's all good.

giftcards, oh yeah. dinner and a movie and a night on the town away from the kids and classroom. teachers will love it! you can put it in a paint can that is altered and full of aromatherapy and yummy relaxing chick stuff.

I stink at gift ideas.
hmmm...
maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant or anything you make would be an awesome gift.

Another teacher who is a big fan of giftcards - I've gotten Starbucks, bookstores, and restaurants before, and I think pretty much anyone would like those.

Tina Barriscale made the CUTEST little tags for her son's teachers which are posted on her blog. http://tinabarriscale.typepad.com/half_of_what_i_say_is_mea/2005/12/in_the_air_ther.html

Hope that gives you some inspiration!
